The Storm of '28 Empty CHAPTER 1

Post by Kinda Long Hair Wed Jun 02, 2010 8:26 am

"There's a storm coming, Blue." muttered The Homestar Runner to his dog, a half dead mutt of an unknown breed. "I can feel it in my bones...."
The dog starred forwards, panting and drooling. He trudged up to his master's side, waiting to be told what to do. "Yesir, there's a storm comin' indeed!"
The sky had begun to darken. It wouldn't be long before a torrent of rain would be pelting the shanty town. It was guaranteed to be a wet night. "I ought to put out some cans. Maybe we can catch ourselves some drinkin' water!" The Homestar Runner walked back into his home, a shanty made of pieces of metal and cardboard. The dog followed.

The Homestar Runner walked back outside, this time with a couple of old cans of soup. He set them on the ground.
"Maybe we can catch ourselves some water soup!"
As he set the cans out, he noticed a bright, lively young fellow by the name of Sam. He seemed out of place here, in these miserable conditions. Sam was full of life, and always energetic, happy, and willing. He shouldn't be here. He should be off making the world a better place. How can he do that here?
"Hey there, Homestar!" he shouted, striding happily down the street.
"Sam, you just don't got what it takes. Come on Blue, lets get inside."

The rain came.
At first, it was just drizzling, but soon turned into an all out gale.
"Hope the old shack can hold up!" Said The Homestar Runner, water leaking in through the roof. "I sure would hate to have to move back in with ma."
As the rain pounded the roof, The Homestar Runner grew worried. Could this building hold up? He sure hoped so....

The Storm of '28 Empty CHAPTER 2

Post by Kinda Long Hair Wed Jun 02, 2010 8:27 am

Some things were meant to be, but they can still be awful. Sam had returned to Skid Row, and crawled under his box of 'some hams'. Sam had long since eaten all of those hams, but the box was still stolen quite often.
"I guess most people are desperate." thought Sam.

Despite the terrible conditions, Sam was an unfailing optimist. He knew, just knew, that someday, somehow, the world would be better. He stopped over and coughed by the thought of a sane world. He would continuously try to bring a bit light into such dark times. There was just one thing that halted him, he had sickle cell.

It was that, and that alone that had kept him from being drafted with his two brothers: Strong Bad and Strong Man. They were part of the first wave that invaded Prance, where they overthrew the Kaiser and toppled the most powerful enemy. Despite the tense fighting, Sam knew that they would survive. The last bit of news he had received, was that Strong Bad had been knighted by the queen of Dortugal.
"Sir Strong Bad..." he chuckled, "I hope his new title doesn't inflate his ego."
Strong Bad was quite friendly, and soft-spoken. He always put the needs of others before himself.

With thoughts on the war and his brothers, Sam didn't hardly even notice the rain start.

The Storm of '28 Empty CHAPTER 3

Post by Kinda Long Hair Wed Jun 02, 2010 8:28 am

Prance, 1928.

The invasion was succesful, and the Kaiser's regieme has been destroyed. The fighting was tense. Whilst seeing all my deerest comrades fall in the field of battle, I felt something within me. Not organs, or anything that was supposed to be there. It was a feeling of.... I can't quite describe it, all I know was that I cared no longer about anyone but me. Heh. Thats what carried me through the battle, that's why I was knighted by the queen of Dortugal, a very beautiful lady I might add. I quite enjoyed it.

-Sir Strong Bad.

It was time for his Unit to be shipped back home, and he was ready. The Surgeon said he had some type of "Post Tramatic Stress Syndrome", or something like that. Sir Strong Bad didn't really care about that at all. As he boarded the FCS Seriously, he just wanted to be away from all this.

But things weren't as good back home.

Back in his shack, the Hometar Runner tried as hard as he could to keep the water out of his house.
"We might have to have a flood sale." Quipped the Homesta Runner. Flood water was already starting to creep into the erm... building. Soon, the flood was too much, and it burst into the shanty. It began to wash away everything in it's path.

And in it's path was Blue.

The floodwaters tore the helpless mutt out of the shack. "No!" cried the Homestar Runner, swimming after him. Despite amazing effort, he failed to reach the dog.
