You haven't backed up said "nay" with any evidence. No side taking here, but you didn't actually said why you voted nay.

I say nay. We're not Canada, and Obama will never pull it off. Here's the thing:
He killed the space program for this. It'll be 6 years before we get another rocket, and by then China and Mother Russia will have beaten us to finding the Mass Relay on Pluto because they have longer experience with these rockets and then THEY will have the advanced technology to map the whole galaxy before us, and all this because he stole all our space funds for Socialism and Bailouts! NYEEAH!!!!

Kill the bill.

1. We can't pay for it.
1a. We spent more money than we have on Obama's economic plan.
1b. That money can't be recouped unless we ridiculously raise taxes, print more money, or borrow it. Each of these methods will ruin our economy by forcing it to stop or causing hyperinflation.
1c. We already can't pay for Social Security, Medicare, and Medicaid. They're several billion into debt and can't sustain the baby boomers who will retire.

2. Government subsidized health care sucks.
2a. People from all over the world try to escape universal health care come to the US already. Brits prefer dentists in Hungary to their own. It takes years to wait for crucial surgery. But it's free, so that's good, right?
2b. Doctors have no incentive to search for the most efficient drug for the lowest price for their patients when the government foots the bill for anything.

3. The government can't run anything efficiently. The Democrats put funding for peanut and spinach farmers into the Patriot Act. Remember the $100 toilet seat?

4. The US health care system needs improvements. But those improvements are targeted and low-key, such as tort reform and elimination of the onerous restrictions of buying across state lines.

The point: the health care bill sucks.

That's better. When presenting an argument about something, having your only evidence be "because I think so" isn't a good way to back up your killing blow!
